A well-planned system for sewerage exists in NMMC area.
The length of sewer lines laid in 2006-07 is 25.58 Km. Total length of
sewers is 258.40 km.. Over 99 % area of developed nodes in
NMMC is covered by underground drainage system. There are 8 number of
sewage treatment plants in NMMC area at CBD Belapur, Nerul, Sanpada,
Vashi, Koparkhairne and Airoli. The raw sewage generated in NMMC area is
197.00 MLD.
NMMC has also provided underground sewerage system in
almost all GES areas and gaons. NMMC is in process of identifying gaons
area where underground sewerage system can be provided. At present, work
of laying sewerage system is under progress at Belapur, Agroli, Darave,
Kukshet, Sarsole, Juinagar, Kopri, Bonkod, Pawane, Talwali, Airoli,
Sainathwadi and Diva gaon.
