Public Toilets

There are 320 public toilets in NMMC area with total seats of 3626 (50% for ladies & 50% for gents). NMMC also has provided 11 mobile toilets on pay and use basis. The work of looking after these toilet facilities has been given to seven social working organizations (Table 5.1.5). The details of Expenditures incurred in maintenance and repair of public toilets during the year 2006-2007 are given in Table 5.1.6. It is proposed to provide public toilet facility in all slum area/gaothans in order to reduce open defecation. NMMC has provided Rs 250 lakhs for this purpose
